Lassen Grizzlies Defeat Spanish Springs
The Lassen Grizzlies hosted the Spanish Springs Cougars of Reno NV, Saturday, October 21st at Arnold Field. The game was the final regular season home game for the 2017 season. The home crowd braved cold winds and partly cloudy skies, to cheer the Grizzles to victory. The Grizzlies took a 20 – 0 lead into halftime, and held the Cougars scoreless in the second half. Penalties plagued the Grizzlies throughout the second half. Just as the Grizzlies seemed to gain some offensive momentum, they committed a penalty that would kill the drive.
The Grizzlies played solid defense throughout the entire game. The Cougars ground game, lead by a trio of hard to tackle running backs, kept the game in doubt until late in the 4th period.
Lassen Grizzlies went on to defeat the Spanish Springs Cougars 20 – 0.
Congratulations to the Grizzlies for winning a hard fought game, and congratulations to the Cougars for their sheer determination and maintaining exceptional sportsmanship during a losing effort.
